State celebrated Earth Day on Wednesday, April 11. The event was sponsored by
the Institute for Community Sustainability, which is a group promoting environmental
sustainability. The event consisted of live music, an art competition, as well
as information on sustainability. Visitors to the exhibition were given the
opportunity to purchase plants, seeds, and art pieces created from recycled
materials. The event was designed to promote Earth Day, which is April 22, as
well as promote and inform students and the community on what they can do to
live more sustainably.
